Actress/hatmaker Bridget Armstrong has adored hats from her years in
theatre, film and television. When she was filming the TV film "A
Portrait of Katherine Mansfield", playing the charismatic New Zealand
writer, she wore the Bloomsbury style hat worn by the legendary Virginia
Woolf and that became the inspiration for the basic shape and style of
the Bridget Armstrong Hat.
Returning from her native New Zealand in 1994, after a spell of ten years
in New Zealand theatre, film and television, her flattering and original
hats became her life and creative survival and she opened her Wimbledon
salon/workshop in 2000.
So come The Wedding, The Garden Party, The Holiday, and especially Royal
Ascot, the Hatwearers of SW London and far beyond are happy to have an
original hat made to match their outfit, in the fabric and colour of their
choice.
